The dish needs to be slanted under the distributing dispenser.my cat pushes her food back there & can’t finish it.

Before getting this automatic feeder, I was on the verge of purchasing a "slow feeder mat" because my cat would rush his food bowl and almost choke in the amount of food he was trying to get in one bite. He was having diarrhea for months, too, until I started him on a schedule. I've never had any troubles with the locking lid - he doesn't try and pry it open (bought specifically for this feature).
